AUBURN -- Julie Monson was 18 years old when she was murdered in 1981, after being abducted off the streets of Auburn.
Thomas Bianco, an acquaintance of the victim, was convicted of her murder. Bianco was realeased in 1993 after a judge determined Cayuga County authorities withheld evidence that would have exonerated him.
Since then, investigators have focused on a convicted rapist who is now serving time in prison, but still no one has been charged with the murder.
Tonight in an Action News special report, we hear from Robert Schillagi, a man who has been following the case closely for years. He tells us what he's doing to pressure officials to reopen the investigation into the 28-year-old murder case.
Tune in to Action News Live at 11:00 tonight on NBC3 to watch the full report, and check back here at CNYcentral.com later today for more details on the story.
