UTICA (AP) -- A 20-year-old Central New York woman faces five to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree manslaughter for smothering her 4-month-old daughter in April 2008.

LeeAnn Wimmers entered the guilty plea Monday morning before Oneida County Court Judge Barry Donalty, who set sentencing for Dec. 14.

Prosecutors say Wimmers pressed the infant's face against her chest until the baby stopped breathing, then put her in a baby swing at her home in Deerfield, near Utica.
