SYRACUSE (AP) -- Syracuse could have its first woman mayor or first black mayor.

The choices on Election Day are Democratic Councilwoman Stephanie Miner; Republican businessman Steve Kimatian, and former city parks director Otis Jennings, running as a Conservative after losing to Kimatian in a primary.

The three are seeking to succeed Democrat Matt Driscoll, who was limited to two terms.

If elected, Miner, 39, a former labor lawyer, would be the first woman to lead the city. Jennings, 52, would be the city's first black mayor.

In Albany, four-term Democratic incumbent Gerald Jennings faces little serious opposition from underfunded Republican challenger Nathan Lebron.

Incumbent mayors Byron Brown in Buffalo and Robert Duffy in Rochester are running unopposed.
