OSWEGO -- An Oswego County man has been found not guilty of assault and endangerment charges.

According to Oswego County Court Judge Walter Hafner's office, Francis F. Briton III of State Route 104 in Williamstown was on trial last week on charges of first degree assault, reckless assault of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. On Monday, an Oswego County Court jury found Britton not guilty on all counts.

Britton III was arrested in May of 2008 after a two-month-old girl was admitted to University Hospital with life threatening injuries, which police say were sustained earlier in the month. Britton was accused of causing those injuries to the child, but the trial jury found him not guilty on all charges.
