SYRACUSE -- former Syracuse Police officer who was forced to retire after facing trouble involving teens was in court once again, facing numerous criminal charges against him.

48-year-old Frederick Baunee of Camillus was in Onondaga County Court Thursday morning, just days after being released on bail on multiple counts of sale of marijuana and child endangerment. Judge John Brunetti lowered Baunee's bail from the $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond set by the Camillus Town Court to $10,000 cash or bond.

Baunee, a former 18 year veteran of the Syracuse Police Department, was convicted in April 2008 of endangering the welfare of a child after providing alcohol to a 14-year-old boy. Camillus Police arrested him again this September on nine counts of criminal sale of marijuana and eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police also said that Baunee had an inappropriate relationship with a child under the age of 17, and was accused of supplying neighborhood children with drugs and cigarettes.

When police searched his home in late September, they reported finding psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana. He was charged with felony drug counts, which also were a violation of the terms of his probation.

Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick says that the case against Baunee will go to a Grand Jury. Fitzpatrick says multiple families have come forward with complaints about Baunee.

In 1994, Baunee made news when he was attacked in the neck with a broken bottle while on duty.
