SYRACUSE -- Action News has learned that the Onondaga County District Attorney's office is investigating the financial activities of Patricia Heindorf. She is the wife of Village of North Syracuse Mayor John Heindorf.

District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said Thursday morning that the investigation was sparked after a member of the village board of trustees filed a complaint against Patricia Heindorf earlier this month. That trustee has not been identified.

Fitzpatrick would not comment further, saying that the investigation is in its early stages. He would not comment on if the investigation had anything to do with Patricia Heindorf’s roles with the village beautification committee, public library, or education association.

Mayor John Heindorf recently made headlines after getting into an argument with North Syracuse Police Chief Tom Connelly and firing him, but Connelly has since returned to his job. Village board trustees had investigated a physical incident between the two men that took place in late September and led to Connelly’s temporary dismissal.
