BRIDGEPORT -- Victoria Deverso, 17, was killed Monday when the Trailblazer she ws riding in hit a minivan on Route 31 in Bridgeport.

Police say 18 year old Chelsea Kuss was driving the Trailblazer. Kuss and the minivan driver were both critically injured in the crash.

It was a truly sad scene on Route 31 in Bridgeport. About 100 of Victoria Deverso's friends got together Wednesday night to remember her and take comfort in each other.

Shelby Caparco was friends with Victoria. She said, "She's looking down right now and doesn't want us to be sad. She was a strong girl and I'm trying to be strong for her but its so hard."

Victoria's father couldn't hold back tears as he spoke to the mourners. He said, "My daughter wasn't a perfect girl by any means. But I know this. She only wanted the best for everybody. She wanted everybody to be happy."

Victoria's friends are struggling to stay strong knowing life won't be the same without her.

"It makes me upset that we'll never be able to hug her again or talk to her," said Caparco.

Victoria's friends said she was never part of a clique at school, but was friends with everyone. They said they believe that's what brought out so many mourners Wednesday night.
