Syracuse Police investigate stabbing on South Ave.

SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police Department is currently investigating a stabbing that occurred in the vicinity of the Southwest Community Center on the 400 block of South Ave. at about 5:15 PM Tuesday evening. 

Syracuse Police arrived on the scene and located one juvenile victim with one stab wound to the torso.  The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital and is listed in serious, but stable condition. 

Police quickly located the suspect and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as a 15 year old female who was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.  The juvenile was taken to the Hillbrook Detention Facility and will appear in Family Court Wednesday. 

The investigation is continuing.
