SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man is facing charges in connection with a shooting Wednesday morning.

Bayon Hunter, 25, of 1009 Ballantyne Road in Syracuse, is accused of shooting his friend on the Onondaga Nation.

Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say Hunter and his friend, Sean Turner, 26, of Riverdale Drive, drove to the Onondaga Nation and were using cocaine. Detectives say Hunter then shot Turner in the neck. Turner suffered a non-life threatening injury and was treated and released from University Hospital.

Hunter was arraigned in the Town of Onondaga Court Wednesday night and is locked up at the Justice Center on $50,000 cash bail. He is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He will be back in court August 10th.
