Tway closed in both directions early Sunday
State Police spent much of Sunday morning looking for the people who were in a car that hit another on the Thurway early Sunday morning. The crash happened near New Venture Gear about 3:40am. Reports are, the car was speeding when it rear-ended the second vehicle, which ended up rolling over. No one was seriously hurt in the car that was hit, but the people in the first vehicle fled the scene. The Thruway was shut down in both directions between exits 34A and 35, while the scene was cleared. Troopers have traced the vehicle ownership and talked to relatives, but are still searching for the driver and at least one other passenger.
