HAMILTON, NY -- Former President Bill Clinton is making an appearance in Central New York for the second time this month, sharing his thoughts on current events and throwing his support behind candidates.

Friday night, Clinton gave a speech at Colgate University as part of the university's Global Leaders Lecture series. He spoke about how important it is for as many people as possible to have a positive effect on the world to counteract negative influences.

"There's so much good about the modern world, you just have to look around to see it," he told the crowd of about 5,000 people.

From there, Clinton went to Utica, where he endorsed Democrat Congressional Candidate Michael Arcuri. Arcuri is the incumbent in the 24th Congressional District. He is facing off against Republican challenger Richard Hanna.

Just a few weeks ago, the former president endorsed Congressman Dan Maffei at a rally in Syracuse. Republican Ann Marie Buerkle is running against him for that seat.
