UTICA, ONEIDA CO. -- A Utica man who used to devote his time to volunteer is accused of using the charity's account to rake up several thousand dollars in charges.

Utica police say Craig Ingersoll, 28, of Lowell Avenue, made unauthorized charges to the Habitat for Humanity Lowe's account in excess of $3,600. He used to be a volunteer for the organization.

Investigators say Ingersoll went to Lowe's and Jay-K Lumber and made several charges to the charity's account to buy construction items and power tools for his own personal use.

Ingersoll was later arrested in Utica at the site where he was doing construction. He's now charged with grand larceny and forgery, both felonies.
