SYRACUSE -- A local doctor admitted his guilt in connection with sexually explicit text messages sent to a teenage boy.

Dr. Richard Kulak plead guilty Wednesday in state Supreme Court to one count of attempted first degree disseminating indecent material to a minor.

Kulak was promised a sentence of 10 years on probation. He will have to register as a sex offender. Sentencing is scheduled for January 7th.

Kulak was in private practice at North Medical Center in Liverpool. He is also the former Director of Health Services for the Syracuse City School District.

At the time of Kulak's arrest in February, the school district said he did not have regular contact with children.

The 40-year-old Kulak agreed not to practice while the state Health Department investigates his conduct.
