Mental health patient arrested for possessing Uzi

SENECA FALLS -- A Seneca Falls man is under arrest after police say he was found possessing weapons at a mental health facility.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, a routine search of 43-year-old Daniel Albert Tusch’s residence at the LakeView Mental Health Residential Facility in Seneca Falls turned up a 9 millimeter semiautomatic Uzi assault rifle, a 12 inch double-sided dagger, a set of chukka sticks, and marijuana. He is charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.

Tusch was and arraigned in Town of Waterloo Court and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Police say he is scheduled to reappear in Town of Seneca Falls Court on January 12 for further court action and possibly additional charges.
