UTICA -- A New Hartford woman is charged with child endangerment after she allegedly left her baby in her car while she was shopping Wednesday.

Investigators say 22-year-old Ashleigh Tedesco left the child in the backseat for more than a half hour while she was shopping at a Price Chopper supermarket in Utica. A police officer found the baby while handing out parking tickets.

Tedesco was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Police say the seven-month-old child is all right, and is in the custody of child protective services.
