SYRACUSE -- A big turnout for the Shamrock Celebration -- which helps animals needing care.

People filled the back of PJ's Pub and Grill in Armory Square Saturday night.  A number of items were up for grabs in live and silent auctions, including a signed basketball from this year's SU Men's Basketball team.  Money from tonight's dinner and cocktail party benefits the Shamrock Animal Fund, which provides financial assistance to animals in need of medical care.

Three local vets were also honored tonight for their dedication to helping animals.

CNY Central's Matt Mulcahy and his wife Jamie are co-founders of the Shamrock Animal Fund.
