OSWEGO CO. -- An Oswego County woman convicted of killing her husband will spend the next decade in prison.

In court Tuesday morning, 69-year-old Joyce Malone was sentenced to 10 years behind bars.

Back in January, it took an Oswego County jury a little more than six hours to convict Malone of shooting her 76-year-old husband Ralph to death. She was found guilty of manslaughter instead of the original charge of second degree murder.

Jurors found the domestic violence she suffered at the hands of her husband was extreme emotional disturbance.

Ralph Malone worked as an Oswego police officer for eight years, and the couple ran a gun shop for many years.
