Chenango County daycare operation suspended after marihuana plants are discovered

BAINBRIDGE -- A Chenango County daycare operation has been suspended, and a local man has been arrested after marihuana plants were found in the building's basement.

State troopers say they were called to the scene by the New York State office of Children and Family Services, bureay of Daycare Enforcement.  The discovery was made during a surprise inspection at the home along County Route 39 in Bainbridge.

32-year-old James Spinella has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th Degree and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis.  He lived at the home. Spinella has been issued an appearance ticket.

22 year old Stephanie Emerson was running the daycare business from the home. Her license was suspended.
