SYRACUSE -- Seniors in Central New York will have to find somewhere else to cool off this evening.

The Ida Benderson Senior Center has closed early for the day because of a water main break, according to the Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation, and Youth Programs. Because of the water main break, water has been cut off to building restrooms and the kitchen.

The center was supposed to be open until 7pm to help seniors cool off.

Repairs should be done in time for the center to reopen on Monday at 8am, according to Parks Commissioner Baye Muhammad.

If you have any questions, you can call the Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Programs at 473-4330.
