ALBANY -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the National September 11 Memorial and Museum have announced the 30 cities and towns that will have exhibits displaying artifacts from the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Cuomo urged all New Yorkers to visit the sites that will be opening across the state beginning August 29. The exhibits will be open on September 11, a Sunday, and the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
In Central and Northern New York, exhibits will be featured in:
- Syracuse: Museum of Science & Technology
- Utica: Mohawk Valley Community College
- Watertown: Dulles State Office Building
- Geneva: Geneva Public Library
- Auburn: Cayuga Community College
- Ithaca: Rothschild Building at Ithaca Commons
- Norwich: Council of the Arts
- Oneonta: Yager Museum of Art & Culture at Hartwick College
- Potsdam: SUNY Potsdam
Artifacts from ground zero and expressions of grief sent after the 2001 terrorist attacks will be part of the exhibits.
Many of the artifacts for "New York Remembers" come from the State Museum.
