And there's more at Onondaga Co. Parks this fall

Syracuse's Zoo is looking for name suggestions, for its baby Patas monkey, born in August.  Parks Commissioner Bill Lansley says they don't know the sex of the baby, so you can suggest two names--one for either.

Suggestions should be sent  to contest@rosamondgiffordzoo.org   and must be received by 4:00 p.m. on September 25.  Entrants must include their name, age, address,  phone number, e-mail address, name suggestions and reason for their  choices.

*The contest is open to  those 5 and older. *Patas monkeys found from  the rainforest of Western Africa  through the savannahs of Kenya; name suggestions with a native  influence are strongly encouraged.
*A committee at the zoo will select the top names (minimum five) of those  suggested.
*The top names will be  posted on the zoo’s website (rosamondgiffordzoo.org) from September 28 through  October 3.  The winning name will be announced at the zoo on October  5.
*The winner will receive a  Patas Monkey Adopt an Animal package valued at  $100.

In our Weekend Today in CNY interview, Commissioner Lansley also had a preview of fall in the parks:
Walks around Beaver Lake continue (guided programs at 2pm on weekends) with an emphasis on fall-themed sights.
Irish Road Bowling is coming up October 30th at  Onondaga Lake Park----team entries are being taken now (the 'ball' is a cannon ball, which  you get with registration.  There's also a ball decorating contest!)

The Onondaga County Parks website has more information on all the fall events.
