SYRACUSE -- Oswego City Police say they arrested four suspects in an alleged robbery attempt Tuesday.
Police say they arrested the suspects as a result of an investigation into a reported motor vehicle accident that injured Kim B. Ellingwood, 49, of Oswego.
Investigators say they have learned that the incident was a planned robbery, during which a motor vehicle collision occurred.
Police tell CNY Central that, “It is alleged that the four suspects, acting together and as one, had led Ellingwood to believe she could meet them at a designated location to purchase a quantity of illegal drugs. However, they never intended to sell her any drugs but instead planned to rob her of the cash.”
“Upon arriving at the designated location, the three male suspects robbed Ellingwood of the cash and attempted to flee the scene in their vehicle. Ellingwood then drove her vehicle into the suspect’s vehicle and pushed it a short distance. All parties exited their vehicles and Pasiak began beating Ellingwood, causing serious physical injury,” say investigators.
Investigators say one suspect called 911 and reported that she had been rear ended by an unknown vehicle while driving, in an attempt to mislead the police.
Gregory M. Pasiak, 21, Wayne M. Parker, 20, and Shane M. Hartmann, 21, have been arrested and charged with one count each of first degree robbery and assault. Shandelle A. Tetro, 20, was also charged with one count each of hindering prosecution and falsely reporting an incident. The suspects are being held awaiting arraignment.
Ellingwood remains in serious condition at Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse. Police do not believe the injuries are life threatening.
Police say that the information obtained to date is a result of and investigation, evident and witnesses. Police have not been able to speak with Ellingwood due to her condition.
