OSWEGO -- A drug investigation at two Oswego fraternities leads to the arrest of five young men.

Oswego police say the arrests stem from an investigation into the sale and trafficking of illegal drugs by members of Delta Kappa Kappa and Sigma Tau Chi. Both organizations have local chapters at SUNY Oswego.

Around 6:30 p.m. on October 28, police executed a search warrant at Delta Kappa Kappa at 86 Sheldon Avenue. 26-year-old James Salvato and 21-year-old Kyle McGrath were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. They were both issued appearance tickets and are due back in court on February 16.

20-year-old Thomas VonBraunsberg was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was released on an appearance ticket and is also due in court on February 16.

22-year-old Zachary Nieldander was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in Oswego City Court and sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bail bond. He's scheduled to return to Oswego City Court on January 10.

22-year-old Griffin Dault was charged with Conspiracy, a felony. He was arraigned in Oswego City Court and released on his own recognizance. He's due back in court on January 5.

Nielander and Dault are accused of trafficking and/or conspiring to traffic a total of ½ kilogram of powdered cocaine, over the course of several months, from Rochester to Oswego.

Police seized $1,530 in cash, ½ oz. of powdered cocaine and ½ ounce of marijuana.
