SKANEATELES -- As the Skaneateles Central School District continues its court battle over its controversial football season, district leaders have released 16 pages of documents related to the investigation into the alleged illegal recruiting scandal.
Eagle News posted the documents on its website.
The documents include the report to the school board by the district's law firm, the summary of the private investigator hired by the district and a sworn statement from a former high school athlete about being recruited.
According to Eagle News, many of the details were never presented by the school board at public meetings due to privacy concerns of the people involved.
Just last week, we told you how the district was heading back to court to deal with the controversy.
An attorney for the district says the school filed a motion opposing the decision by Section III to suspend the football season. The team's undefeated season was cut short after allegations of recruiting violations by former head coach Tim Green, who resigned amid the controversy.
O'Hara says the school district is still fighting to win the case, even though the team isn't playing football anymore. He says Section III's decision to suspend the season was made in violation of open meeting laws, its own rules and regulations, and was "arbitrary." He expects the motions to be heard sometime after the first of the year.
