Ed Ryan and Judge Charles Major, grand marshals for St. Patrick's Day parade

SYRACUSE -- It may only be January, but we are already seeing green in Syracuse.
This morning, organizers of Syracuse's St. Patrick's Day Parade introduced the two grand marshals for this year. The announcement happened at Kitty Hoynes in downtown Syracuse.
Former Onondaga County legislator Ed Ryan and State Supreme Court Judge Charles Major will serve as grand marshals for the parade.
"I really appreciate it, it's a real honor because of all the people who have gone before me that have been a marshal from Jerry Adams to Nancy Duffy and all those in between so thank you," Major said.
The parade draws thousands of people to downtown Syracuse each during during what has become a month-long celebration in the city. It starts with the green beer delivery day at Coleman's Irish Pub on Syracuse's Tipperary Hill the last weekend in February. That's followed by the Shamrock Run on Tipp Hill a few weeks later and is capped off with the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
This will be the 30th year of the parade.
"Let's have a great parade, let's ask for good weather, let's everybody have fun, keep it within the bounds have a good time and we'll do it again next year," Ryan said.
