SYRACUSE -- A former volunteer wrestling coach at Central Square High School has admitted to child pornography charges.

Joshua Rice, 26, of Brewerton, pleaded guilty in federal court to producing child pornography. Rice admitted he enticed a 12-year-old boy to take sexually explicit videos of himself and send them to Rice.

In the plea agreement, Rice says he texted with the boy and "continually instructed the child to take pictures and video of his penis." In exchange for sending the videos, Rice sent the child pictures of a naked woman.

When Rice was arrested in September of 2010, the Central Square School District released a statement saying Rice was fingerprinted and cleared after a criminal background check before getting the job.

Rice faces a sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison, probation, and will have to register as a sex offender.
