SYRACUSE -- Parade organizers are quick to admit -- raising money for the Syracuse St. Patrick's Parade is tough work.
"We get very nervous and we spend a lot of time getting nervous," said Claire Dunn, St. Patrick's Parade Committee member. "It has always worked out in the past and it looks like it will work again."
In a down economy, organizers said it's becoming increasingly difficult to rely so heavily on corporate donations. Instead, they've turned to folks in the community.
Sunday afternoon, "Benjamin's on Franklin" bar in Syracuse's Armory Square hosted a fundraiser for the parade.
"People come together at the last minute especially when they're faced with the possibility of wondering if it's really going to happen again," Dunn said.
This is the 30th year of the parade, which actually falls on St. Patrick's Day this year. Organizers said it costs around $30,000 to pull off the parade and said one way or another they'll find a way to make sure it happens again this year.
