SYRACUSE -- Families will have the chance to set sail through history as the Onondaga Free Library presents its "Titanic Week."

The library is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic on April 10, 1912. It's one of many events being held in Central New York this week as students are on February break.

The library is fully decorated. When people come in, they'll be given a Titanic boarding pass. Then, on their way out, they can see what happened to the person on the boarding pass. There are also displays where children can dress up in clothes from that time period, sit at a table like the ones on the Titanic, and play with a telegraph.

The library is holding a "Shipbuilding with LEGOs" night Monday at 7:00 pm, a magic show on Tuesday at 7:00 pm, family storytimes on Wednesday and Thursday at 11:00 am, music from the Titanic on Thursday at 7:00 pm, and Lifesaver and Iceberg float day on Friday.

The library is also holding a raffle. The winners will receive books about the Titanic.

The Onondaga Free Library is located at 4840 West Seneca Turnpike in Syracuse. All of the events are free.
