SYRACUSE -- Several hundred homes and businesses were without power this morning on the north side of Syracuse.

According to the National Grid website, approximately 1,200 homes in the areas of James Street, Butternut Street, Lodi Street, and surrounding side streets experienced a power outage at its peak around 6:30 a.m. Onondaga County 911 was unable to say for sure what caused the outages when contacted by CNY Central.

The outage affected a few traffic lights, and even caused an alarm to go off at the Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare building on Hickory Street.

Power was restored around 7:00 a.m.
