SCHENECTADY -- Price Chopper has issued a recall of several pies after an ingredient was left off of the product label.

According to a news release from the company, a voluntary recall is in effect for Pice Chopper Bakery five and eight inch apple, blueberry, cherry, and peach streusel pies. This is due to the streusel topping containing eggs, which was not listed among the ingredients and can cause allergic reactions in some people.

The Schenectady-based company says the product is safe to eat for people who are not allergic to eggs.

Customers can return the streusel to their local Price Chopper store for a refund. Those who purchased the product and used the company’s customer loyalty card will be alerted to this recall.
