SYRACUSE -- Students at Dr. King Elementary School had special guests visit Thursday morning as part of its anti-bullying campaign this month.
WWE Pro wrestlers "Phoenix" and "Edge" spoke to students about the dangers of bullying and what to do if they themselves are bullied.
Dr. King Elementary is one of several schools across the country that has teamed up with the WWE and its anti-bullying "Be a Star" campaign which encourages students to treat one another with tolerance and respect.
WWE wrestler Beth Phoenix, from Minoa, says, "Bullying is something that needs to be addressed also the kids need to be given strategies on how to deal with it. We all remember the feeling of being bullied as a kid and it is important to know how to deal with it in a better more positive way."
Teachers say one of the reasons the "Be a Star" program has been such a success is that the anti bullying message is coming from superstars many of the kids already look up to.
