SYRACUSE -- There's more reason for Central New York basketball fans to cheer this March.  Syracuse University is getting ready for its Sweet 16 game against Wisconsin, and you have a chance to save money with local businesses.

22 stores have signed up for the visitsyracuse.org all the way promotion.  In honor of SU's #1 seed in the East Region there are a number of 1 dollar deals for Central New Yorkers and travelers.

At places like Empire Brewing in Armory Square, the bar is offering $1 16-oz pints during Syracuse NCAA Tournament games.  Adam Eagan from Empire says, "People are getting a two hour span to get a deep, deep discount and it creates a lively atmosphere here for the games."

Benjamin at Franklin's and Mulrooney's are also offering $1 dollar drinks during tournament games.

Hotels are also getting into the fun.  If you stay two nights at the Hotel Skyler you can get a third night for $1.  The Jefferson-Clinton hotel has a similar deal.  And other hotels are offering deals for $111 dollars.

Even Syracuse Opera is singing the Orange's praises. Its offering a deal on a special raffle. Cathy Wolff says, "Its a pair of courtside season tickets for SU men's basketball for all of next season. We thought, perfect match to do the tournament and push the basketball raffle, and raise dollars for Syracuse Opera."

Syracuse's unique promotion is also generating interest across the country. David Holder from the Syracuse Convention & Visitors Bureau says, "We just saw a mention in Kansas City, this is something our team could be doing. We're a number two seed, we could be doing two dollar deals."

You can find a list of all the businesses participating here.
