ANNSVILLE -- Two Taberg men are accused of assaulting another man during a fight.
State police responded to the scene on Taberg Florence Road in the Town of Annsville on Monday.
Police say 23-year-old Damien Sands and 18-year-old Richard Tennant, both of 9930 Taberg Florence Rd., assaulted 31-year-old Joseph Barney. Tennant is also accused of menacing Barney with a knife. Barney was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries and for an unrelated medical condition.
Sands is charged with assault. Tennant is charged with assault and menacing. They were both arraigned in Camden Town Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
When police went to the hospital to give Barney an order of protection, they learned he had left in his hospital gown and was later picked up by Rome Police. While trying to figure out who Barney was and why he was in the street in a hospital gown, they learned he was wanted by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office. He was eventually taken into custody.
