First Check Home Drug Test

SYRACUSE -- More than 500 free home drug testing kits are being distributed to parents in Central New York.
It is part of a program designed to encourage communication between parents and children about the dangers of drug abuse. Organizers say the program targets middle school students in particular, where the average age for experimentation is 13 years old.
Rural/Metro Medical Services, notMYkid.org, and First Check Diagnostics Corp. are working together to distribute educational information and the drug testing kits.
Syracuse is one of nine cities across the country that is receiving the drug tests. Organizers say they wanted to distribute the kits before April 20th, which they say is also known as "National Get High Day."
The home drug test kits screen for 12 different drugs with more than 99% accuracy within five minutes. The tests have a value of $30 each.
Drug tests will be given out at Rural Metro Medical Services at 488 West Onondaga Street in Syracuse on Thursday April 19th and Friday April 20th from 9am-4pm. For alternate hours for pickup, call (315) 701-7029.
