ITHACA -- A contruction project will impact drivers in the city of Ithaca.

Starting Monday, crews will be performing gas line work along the 400 block of Mitchell Street and the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue. The work includes trenching and excavating.

Due to the construction, the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue will be closed to all through traffic during the workday. Mitchell Street will be reduced to one lane at time. Drivers should expect delays. Lanes will be open during non-work hours.

Detours will not be posted. According the city of Ithaca, the project is scheduled to be completed in late May.
