WESTMORELAND, ONEIDA COUNTY -- A Westmoreland man was arrested Sunday morning after a pursuit that Oneida Sheriffs deputies say reached speeds of over 100 miles an hour and included a head on run at a marked Sheriff's car.

26 year old Antonio Guerrero-Mendoza, from East Carter Road in Westmoreland, is being held with no bail at the Oneida County Jail, after being arrested just after 8:00am Sunday.

Deputies say he was being pursued along Route 233 when he drove head on at the marked car, driving across three lanes to force the police vehicle into a parking lot.

The uniformed officer then turned around and followed Guerrero-Mendoza's car at speeds of over 100mph.  They say he forced two vehicles off the road with erratic driving, and did not stop or slow until he got to his own driveway.

Mendoza is charged with reckless operation, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol level over .18, and speeding over 100mph. He is also charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer under the Todeschini Law.

A passenger in the vehicle is also in custody without bail, for Immigration and Customs enforcement violations.
