MANHEIM, HERKIMER CO. -- Police in Herkimer are investigating a car crash that happened Saturday afternoon around 3pm that killed an 18-year-old man from Little Falls.

Police say 18-year-old, Zachary T. Brisbane, was driving on Barker Road in the Town of Manheim and approaching the intersection with State Route 167.

Brisbane was attempting to make a left turn onto State Route 167, police say, when he turned directly into the path of an oncoming pickup truck operated by 27-year-old Ryan O. Hart.

Police say that when the cars collided, Brisbane’s Buick exited the roadway and came to rest on the west side of the road. Hart’s truck came to rest on the southbound shoulder.

Brisbane was extricated from his car and taken to St. Elizabeth's Trauma Center where he later died from his injuries.

Hart was transported to Little Falls Hospital with minor injuries.
