The Dream Factory is coming to Syracuse. The national charity grants dreams for sick children and now a group is starting a chapter in Central New York.
"These kids are sick and in pain and they are terrible sad and uncomfortable and the least we can do is get involved and make their dreams come true," said Valerie Glowacki who is helping to get the Syracuse chapter started.
The Board of Directors has already had it's first meeting and is working on it's first project. A new room makeover for a 10-year-old girl suffering from an illness in DeWitt.
"I have children myself and I just can't stand to see children in pain. And I really want them to be able to enjoy their youth and enjoy what it's like to be a kid," said Erin Wisneski.
The charity is hoping to start construction soon and finish by the room makeover by the end of the summer. But it takes a lot of hours and money and they need help from volunteers too. Some local businesses have already signed on to help.
The first fundraiser is May 26th at the 7 PM Syracuse Chiefs game. A portion of the money from ticket sales will help the charity.
