Curran, who neighbors described as a "hoarder" died inside his trailer which was filled with garbage and junk. One source says Curran had been "dead for some time" before Sheriff's deputies entered the home on Route 6. Another source says the man's two dogs had been starving and were severely malnourished.

The dogs were reportedly euthanized.

On Monday, the Oswego County Board of Health declared the property a "public health nuisance" so that it can legally clean up the lot.

The property on County Route 6 is next door to the home where Maggie Sue Wilcox lived. The 4-year-old died last summer from the mosquito borne virus Eastern Equine Encephalitis. Her death prompted a county wide effort to combat the disease.
