TULLY -- State Police in Lafayette are investigating a man who admitted to taking bath salts at a gas station.
Troopers noticed the man staggering Wednesday around 4:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Nice 'N Easy store on Route 80 in Tully.
The man wasn't making sense and appeared highly intoxicated, according to troopers. The man was able to provide a New York Stat
e drivers license .After further questioning, the man said he had taken drugs known as bath salts after parking his car in the parking lot, according to police. He also told troopers he ahd not slept in days.
Inside the man's car was a small dog in the back seat, according to police. A family member came to take the dog.
The man was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for an overdose of bath salts.
A woman from Madison County died after being Tased because she allegedly assaulted her child while high on bath salts, according to police.
