BRUSHTON, ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY -- Combined funeral services are announced for four family members, who were among six killed in a chain-reaction crash, in the North Country late last week.

A funeral mass, will be held Tuesday morning, for the 4 members of the Dana family killed in Thursday's crash in Antwerp.

Laurie Dana, 42, of Lawrence, her daughters, Caitlyn, 14, and Lauryn, 11, died after their SUV was hit with the force of three other vehicles, after a chain-reaction crash in St. Lawrence County Thursday morning.

Laurie's mother-in-law, the girls' grandmother, Janet Dana, 69, was also in the vehicle.

Laurie worked as a Special Education teacher, for Saint Lawrence Central Schools.

Calling hours for the Dana women were held Monday evening at the Flint Funeral Home.

The service, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, in Brushton.

A friend of the young girls, Shannon Planty, 14, also died.

Another victim, Maryann Gregory, 59, succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital Thursday afternoon. She was driving a Subaru, one of the other vehicles involved.

It may be weeks before State Police learn what caused the crash, that happened minutes before 9:00 a.m. Thursday, along Route 11 in Antwerp.

A tractor trailer slammed into several vehicles stopped, or moving very slowly, in a construction zone, not far from Fort Drum.

Investigators say the driver of the tractor trailer, James Mills Jr., 45, did not appear to be impaired, distracted, or on his cell phone, at the time of the crash.

He told troopers, he was awake and alert -- but did not see the construction signs or cars that were stopped -- until it was too late.

Troopers say Mills is cooperating with the investigation, and did not show any signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, though he was tested for both as a precaution.
