SYRACUSE -- Police in Syracuse are investigating a suspicious incident involving a woman who was thrown into the trunk of a car Monday night.

Syracuse Police say it happened around 10:48 p.m. Monday night in the Price Chopper parking lot on Erie Boulevard.

Police say a car sped into the parking lot and quickly stopped. The driver reportedly got out of the car, removed a woman from the backseat and shoved her into the car’s trunk. Then he got back into the car and drove off.

Police say the only information they have about the woman is that she is small framed, white, and had a dark pony tail.

The driver described as a white male between 19 and 25-years-old, about 5’7" tall, he had short hair, and was clean shaven.

The car is described as a dark colored, four door sedan with a gold and blue New York license plate. Police say a witness was able to see part of the license plate which read E955.

Police say the incident was captured on surveillance video and they were able to interview some witnesses at the scene.  Just before placing the woman in the trunk, the man is seen speaking to a woman who is out of the range of the surveillance camera.  Police say she told the man to stop but will not reveal what he said in response.  That woman called 9-1-1.

Late this afternoon, Police revealed that the vehicle is a 2008 or newer dark colored Chevrolet Malibu or a 2011 or newer Chevrolet Cruze.  The car had a blue bumper sticker on the left side of the rear bumper.

Detective George Hack held a news conference at the Syracuse Police Department  Tuesday to show the surveillance video taken my cameras mounted on the front of the Price Chopper store.  In explaining the video, Hack said, "she is not in control of herself.  She's not fighting but she might be intoxicated or possibly drugged.  She's certainly not willing to go into the trunk."

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Syracuse Police at 315-442-5222.  All calls will be kept confidential.  Police say there were other people in the parking lot at the time of the incident and they need to speak with them.
