Accidents happen with people of all ages, but federal agencies and law enforcement are very concerned with new drivers and older drivers.
A new company lets you hire someone to tail your family members to see how they do behind the wheel.
Phillip Hubbs is a retired police officer who started a company, Quest Driving Safety, that will observe teens, seniors and commercial employees to answer the question, how am I driving?
Texting while driving, violating provisional license rules and cutting people off is what Quest Driving Safety looks for, when it follows your teen for 15 to 20 minutes.
"So it's very easy to see within the first few minutes those type of violations," says Hubbs.
It was partly due to personal experience, in which Hubbs had to take away his own parents' driver's license.
"We would routinely visit them, see the car had a crack in the headlight, taillight," says Hubbs.
But the idea of hiring someone to tail a family member gets mixed opinions.
It costs $99 and to some that may seem like a lot, but Hubbs says it's worth it for personal safety and the potential liability in an accident.
"Parents are accountable for anything their children do," says Hubbs.
