VERNON (AP) -- Operators of an upstate New York venue that hosted a recent Bruce Springsteen concert say they will try to do a better job accommodating fans in wheelchairs.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reported Sunday that it had received complaints after the August 29 show at Vernon Downs near Utica that people had to push wheelchairs across a rutted infield, couldn't find bathrooms accessible to the handicapped and had problems getting help.

Officials with promoter Magic City Productions said the venue makes accommodations for the handicapped. But officials with the horse racing and video slot machine venue say it's the promoter's job.

Still, Vernon Downs' general manager said they will look at what they could have done better. And owner Jeff Gural said they "slipped up" and it won't happen again.
