SOUTH BEND -- Update:
Syracuse University Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross has released a statement reacting to Notre Dame's move to the Atlantic Coast Conference. It reads ...
"This is a brilliant move for the ACC and the for the future of Syracuse athletics. Notre Dame is obviously a significant nationally recognized institution that adds tremendous competitive and academic value to the conference. Notre Dame's commitment of playing a significant number of football games versus conference opponents annually is outstanding. All of our sports will benefit from the competition Notre Dame brings to the ACC. We are proud to be joined by Notre Dame in the ACC."

(AP) Notre Dame is leaving the Big East for the Atlantic Coast Conference in all sports but football.
The ACC said Wednesday the school will play five football games annually against the league's programs, but will be a full member in all other sports.
Along with inviting Notre Dame, the ACC also says it has increased its exit fees for the conference's schools to three times the annual operation budget - which would currently come to more than $50 million.
Syracuse University and Pittsburgh are also moving from the Big East to the ACC. West Virginia has left the Big East for the Big 12.
