POMPEY -- A Brewerton man is accused of setting a fire that caused heavy damage to a detached garage.

It happened in Pompey just after 3 a.m. on September 8.

41-year-old Charles Bliss Jr., of 9486 Blaze Path, is charged with arson and burglary. Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say Bliss broke into the detached four car bay garage at 8328 Cazenovia Road and intentionally set the fire.

The garage was engulfed in flames when firefighters got there. The fire destroyed two cars inside the garage.

Bliss was arraigned in the Town of Pompey Court and sent to the Justice Center without bail.
