ARMORY SQUARE -- Spreading the message to shop local is what the CuseMob is all about, according to Syracuse First founder Chris Fowler.

"So you're investing your money right into the community that you live in. We want to be transformational not just transactional," says Fowler.

Syracuse First is a network of locally owned businesses. They came up with the idea of a CuseMob as a way to socialize and support local stores at the same time. The first one took place in May at Craft Chemistry. For their 2nd one, they chose a downtown juice bar called Om Boys. Owner, Todd Brundage welcomed the event with open arms.

"I'm so glad they chose us for the second CuseMob. It's a lot to take in and I don't know what to expect, but it can't be anything but good things," says Brundage.

Brundage practices what Syracuse First preaches. His fresh produce is grown at local organic farms. And he says Syracuse First is helping his small business grow.

"Being a small business it's a challenge to get advertising when you're starting on your own with limited financing so Syracuse First is a big advocate for local business," says Brundage.

Right in the heart of Armory Square, Om Boys specialty is their smoothies.

Equipped with fresh ingredients, Om Boys is ready to take on the CuseMob, armed with enthusiasm and cash.
