ONONDAGA -- The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department says one person is dead, after an accident on Split Rock Road near Harris Road in the Town of Onondaga.
Deputies say a little before 10 p.m. on Saturday, a Kia Optima driven by Mark Cramer, 50, of Farnham Road in Cazenovia, was travelling eastbound on Split Rock Rd when it hit a culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to become airborne and hit a tree.
Taunton Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and extricated Cramer, who was taken to Upstate University Hospital with serious injuries. He later died.
Deputies say the name of the driver won't be released until relatives are notified.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 435-2111.
