SYRACUSE -- Syracuse police say a woman was shot while on the porch of a house on Kenmore Ave after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Police say Stacey Burgess, 29, of Syracuse was on a porch with some friends at 161 Kenmore Avenue when the group heard a shot, followed by Burgess immediately falling down.
Burgess was shot in the left upper thigh/hip area, and sustained significant injuries to her pelvis area. She was transported to Upstate University Hospital where she is listed in serious but stable condition, and it appears her injury is not life threatening.
Police say the investigation is active and ongoing at this time, and anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Syracuse Police at 442-5222.
