WILLIAMSTOWN -- A father and son were arrested for growing marijuana behind a home in Williamstown.

Deputies say Timothy P. Maloney, 51, and his son Timothy C. Maloney, 25, were arrested after it was discovered that they were involved in a marijuana growing operation on their property during an unrelated investigation.

Deputies say two growing plots and about marijuana 62 plants were found in the woods and inside a tent tent-like structure behind the house. A small amount of cut marijuana was also located inside the house.

They were both charged with felony Criminal Possession of Marijuana and misdemeanor Unlawful Growing of Cannabis. They were arraigned in the Town of Amboy Court, and released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to return to court on October 16.
